Heat Stroke Prevention and CPR Awareness Training Conducted for Track Maintainers in Kharagpur Division

Kharagpur : A special awareness programme on Heat Stroke Prevention, Basic Life Support, CPR Awareness and Hands-on CPR Training was conducted for 94 frontline railway staff, particularly Track Maintainers of PWI/Marshalling yard and PWI/Kharida under Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway.
The programme was organized by the St. John Ambulance Brigade under the guidance of Chief Medical Superintendent/Kharagpur, Sanjay Kumar. The initiative aimed at enhancing awareness among field staff regarding preventive measures against heat-related illnesses during the summer season and equipping them with life-saving emergency response skills.
During the session, participants were educated about symptoms, prevention and first-aid measures related to heat stroke, dehydration and exhaustion. Practical demonstrations and hands-on training on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) were also imparted to enable staff to respond effectively during medical emergencies.
The programme witnessed active participation from Track Maintainers and emphasized the importance of health preparedness and safety awareness for employees working in challenging outdoor conditions.
Kharagpur Division remains committed towards ensuring the safety, well-being and capacity building of its frontline workforce through such awareness and training initiatives.
