A tense scene unfolded in the House on 6th February when members of the opposition staged a walkout shortly after the Prime Minister began delivering his speech. The incident occurred amid ongoing disagreements between the treasury benches and opposition parties over key policy issues and procedural concerns.

According to parliamentary sources, opposition members raised slogans and registered protests before exiting the chamber. They stated that their decision to walk out was a mark of dissent, alleging that their demands for discussion on specific matters of public importance had not been adequately addressed. Some opposition leaders later told the media that the government had not allowed sufficient debate time and accused it of avoiding accountability.

Despite the disruption, the Prime Minister continued his address, outlining the government’s position on current national priorities, development initiatives, and legislative goals. Members from the ruling party remained present and thumped desks in support during portions of the speech.

The Speaker urged order and appealed to all sides to maintain parliamentary decorum, emphasizing that dialogue and participation are essential to democratic functioning. Parliamentary affairs representatives from the government criticized the walkout, calling it an attempt to avoid constructive debate.

Political analysts note that walkouts, while not uncommon, reflect deepening friction between the government and opposition. The incident has since triggered strong reactions from both sides, with each blaming the other for the breakdown in floor coordination.

The session continued with scheduled business after the speech concluded.
