Sport-inspired fashion is expected to dominate global style trends this summer, according to Pinterest’s newly released Summer 2026 Fashion Report, which highlights how athletic culture is increasingly influencing everyday clothing choices, beauty trends, and consumer behaviour.

The report, based on search activity and engagement patterns from millions of Pinterest users worldwide, found that sporty aesthetics are moving beyond stadiums and fitness spaces to become a major part of mainstream fashion. Elements such as oversized jerseys, racing stripes, sneakers, varsity designs, athletic shorts, and team-inspired colour palettes are gaining strong popularity among users searching for seasonal outfit ideas.

Pinterest noted that consumers are embracing relaxed yet expressive dressing styles, combining sportswear with casual and street-fashion influences. The platform said younger audiences, in particular, are driving the trend by experimenting with athletic-inspired looks that blend comfort with individuality.

One of the report’s biggest highlights was the continued rise of denim styling trends. Searches for terms related to denim shorts, oversized denim outfits, and casual summer styling reportedly surged over the past year. In response, Pinterest partnered with denim brand Levi’s to introduce an “Off-Duty Summer Denim” collection inspired by the platform’s trend analysis.
