RPF Saves Life of Passenger at Midnapore Station Through Prompt Action

Midnapore : The Railway Protection Force (RPF) once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to passenger safety by saving the life of a passenger at Midnapore Railway Station through timely intervention and alertness.
On 28.04.2026, officers and staff of RPF Post Midnapore, along with the Election QRT team, were conducting routine rounds and checking in the platform area and onboard trains. During the course of duty, Train No. 12883 Express (Santragachi-Purulia Rupasi Bangla Express) arrived at Platform No. 02 of Midnapore station.
At about 10:20 hrs, after the scheduled stoppage, when the train had started moving, one passenger attempted to board the running train and accidentally slipped on the platform, posing a serious threat to his life. Owing to the alertness and swift response of the on-duty RPF staff and officers, immediate action was taken to prevent a mishap. The train was promptly brought to a halt, and the passenger was safely assisted in boarding the same train.
After ensuring the safety of the passenger, the train departed safely from Midnapore station. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV cameras installed at the station.
This incident highlights the alertness, presence of mind, and dedication of RPF personnel towards ensuring passenger safety and security. Their prompt action averted what could have been a serious accident.
The RPF reiterates its appeal to all passengers not to board or deboard moving trains and to strictly follow safety norms while travelling.
