The Coronation Of King Charles Will Occur In June 2023

According to media sources, King Charles III’s coronation will take place on June 3, 2023.

The coronation will take place at Westminster Abbey, according to Page Six’s citation of a UK source. They added that the event would be conducted in a modest manner and on a far lesser scale than his mother’s.

Charles ascended to the throne two days after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September, but his reign as king won’t officially start until June. Camilla Parker-Bowles will also be anointed as Queen Consort alongside him.

When he is crowned, Charles will be the oldest monarch in British history, having turned 74.

The next monarch will hold the scepter, rod, and orb, which represent the Christian world, and sit on the throne known as Edward’s Chair (named after King Charles II in 1661).

According to Page Six, Charles will become King after being anointed with oil, blessed, and consecrated by senior clergy, and after receiving the crown of St. Edward.

Charles and the Queen Consort will then address the nation from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Before giving a speech to the privy council on September 10, Charles was formally crowned as the monarch of the UK and the Commonwealth.
