Imran Gets Disqualified In The Toshakhana Case, And Pakistani PM Shehbaz Labels Him A Proven Thief

A day after being disqualified in the concealment of the Toshakhana assets case, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attacked Imran Khan on October 22, branding the former premier a confirmed thief.

The Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified Khan, 70, on October 21 for failing to inform it of the money he obtained from selling the state gifts, popularly known as the Toshakhana issue.

Khan has been revealed to be a certified liar and a thief, Prime Minister Sharif stated while speaking at a news conference in Lahore.

But he was careful to point out that this was a period of reflection, not joy.

Speaking of the gifts that Khan bought from the state depository, or Toshakhana, at a reduced cost and then profitably sold, Sharif said Khan ought to have put the goods up for auction and deposited the winning bids in the government coffers.

He claimed that he, too, had once gotten a letter from the Cabinet Division informing him that, for a certain sum, he could purchase a state present.

To eliminate the notion that the state presents disappear, according to Sharif, they are currently on display at the Prime Minister’s House.

Additionally, he charged Khan with breaking local regulations to build his Banigala home in the Islamabad suburbs before later legalizing it once he came to power.

Sharif also denied Khan’s claims that the previous premier and his brother Nawaz Sharif were engaged in the decision to remove Khan from office.

In addition, the prime minister praised Pakistan for being taken off the Financial Action Task Force’s grey list.
