Sabang, West Midnapore : As elections draw closer, the political mercury continues to rise. Trinamool Congress All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee made a strong attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP leadership at a public meeting in Sabang in Paschim Medinipur district.
The rally was held in support of Trinamool Congress candidate Manas Bhuiyan at Sabang in Paschim Medinipur district. During his speech, Abhishek Banerjee strongly criticized the BJP’s campaign and said that Bengal would not bow down before outside political pressure.

At the beginning of his speech, he referred to a comment made by Amit Shah a few days ago. Abhishek said that Shah had claimed Trinamool workers would not come out of their homes on May 23. Responding to this, Abhishek said that Medinipur is the land of brave revolutionaries and Bengal will never surrender.
He also openly challenged Amit Shah to stay in Kolkata on June 4, the day of the election results. Abhishek said that the real strength of the BJP would be seen on that day.

Using the popular slogan “Khela Hobe”, Abhishek Banerjee said that the BJP may have started the political game, but Trinamool Congress would finish it. He warned that the BJP’s political power would weaken after the results are declared.
Abhishek also mocked the campaign style of BJP candidates. He said that BJP leaders are now being seen frying luchis in people’s homes and cutting hair and beards during election campaigning. In a sarcastic remark, he told women to keep a broom ready at home so that BJP leaders could clean their houses when they visit.

Speaking to the youth, he joked that they should save money on salon visits and get their hair and beard cut by BJP leaders when they come for campaigning. He also said that after June 4, those leaders would not be seen again. At the end of his speech, Abhishek Banerjee expressed confidence that after the election results, the people of Bengal would continue to stand with the Trinamool Congress and its symbol. His aggressive speech boosted the morale of Trinamool workers before the elections and sent a clear message that the party is ready for a direct political fight with the BJP.
