Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the second high-level meeting with government secretaries at his home. The Prime Minister examined the Ministries’ and Departments’ plans for future action in the areas of technology, commerce and industry, and finance and economy during the meeting. The meeting’s main objective was to advance Viksit Bharat’s objectives more quickly.
During the discussion, Mr Modi urged officers to work with a common goal and asked for a significant emphasis on team building across Ministries and Departments. In order for departments to work closely together and produce integrated results, he highlighted the necessity of dismantling both horizontal and vertical silos within the government.
The Prime Minister emphasised the significance of citizen-centric governance and stated that the Indian people must continue to be at the center of government. He emphasised that the interests and goals of the average citizen should serve as the foundation for all decisions and policies. While India is investing heavily in infrastructure, Mr. Modi emphasised that the development of indigenous technologies must be given equal attention. The prime minister emphasised the significance of developing local skills in key areas and becoming technologically independent.
Additionally, Mr. Modi emphasised how strongly national security, economic stability, and citizen welfare are related to energy security. He stated that innovation, diversity, and faster capacity building are necessary for the nation to become self-sufficient in the energy industry. The necessity of process reform was also emphasised by the prime minister.
Mr. Modi highlighted the necessity of prioritizing cybersecurity alongside technology growth to protect digital infrastructure and urged continuous vigilance against cyber threats. He advocated for increased involvement of young innovators in the cybersecurity sector and proposed developing new academic courses in collaboration with industry to equip future workforces.
Additionally, he stressed proactive communication on strategic initiatives to combat misinformation and emphasized that a progressive and adaptable government is essential. The meeting included discussions on implementation issues led by key officials and departments.
