Kharagpur Hemophilia Society Holds Awareness Programme and AGM in Chandrakona In West Midnapore

Chandrakona, West Midnapore : The Kharagpur Hemophilia Society organised a hemophilia awareness programme and its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Town Hall in Chandrakona on Sunday.

Around 50 people with hemophilia and their family members attended the programme. Fifteen ASHA workers also took part in the event.

The programme focused on mental health and stress management among people with hemophilia and their families. Psychologist Monika Das Verma joined the session online and spoke about the importance of emotional well-being and coping with stress. Dietitian Sunanda Ghosh also participated online and provided guidance on healthy eating and weight management.

The event was attended by members of the Kharagpur Hemophilia Society, including President Somnath Bhunia, Secretary Prasanta Kr. Sana, Treasurer Afzal Khan, Women’s Coordinator Trisha Dolai Bera and Youth Coordinator Prasanta Chakraborty.

Speaking at the programme, Somnath Bhunia highlighted the work carried out by the Society over the years. He said the organisation has completed 25 years of service and continues to support people with hemophilia and their families.

Video messages conveying best wishes were also screened from important figures associated with other hemophilia societies.

The ASHA workers were sensitised about hemophilia through educational videos and informational leaflets. The organisers said their participation would help improve awareness and support for people with hemophilia at the community level.
