Industry can be a significant partner in the education of the underprivileged in India

Award winning NGO Transform Schools, People for Action exchanged an MOU with Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Chamber premises. Transform Schools is an education non-profit with a mission to address learning and equity in education in India.

The objective of this collaboration is to raise brand awareness for Transform Schools’ foray into West Bengal, the work that they do and to assist in creating and curating high impact programmes across the state.

Transform Schools  works in the post primary space to improve learning outcomes for students in public schools with scalable, data driven models that transform Teaching, Learning, School Management, Transition, Retention and Gender Parity. With large scale operations across Odisha, Telangana, Haryana and Chhattisgarh, Transform Schools is now scaling up its operations in West Bengal.

The 122 year old Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry today is steadily making its presence felt across the country through well-thought out, meaningful initiatives aimed not just at Industry but also holistic initiatives such as CSR and environmental advocacy.

“We believe that Industry can be a significant partner in grassroots education in India,” said Shri Atul Churiwal, Past President, MCCI. Mr. Pankaj Vinayak Sharma, CEO, Transform Schools, said, “The MOU with MCCI, a leading Chamber of Commerce, is a significant step in bringing impact to outcome and analytics driven education in the affordable space with the help of stakeholders in West Bengal.”

The MOU was signed in the presence of Shri Yatish Kumar, CMD, Braithwaite & Co. Limited at a special session at the Chamber.
