Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI), in association with Association of Professional Academic Institutions (APAI), Successfully Conducts Faculty Development Programme in Kolkata

Kolkata, 15th May 2026: The Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI), in association with the Association of Professional Academic Institutions (APAI), West Bengal, successfully organised a One-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “Strengthening Institutional Quality, Accreditation & Ranking Performance” in Kolkata.

The programme witnessed active participation from academic leaders, faculty members, administrators, and IQAC teams from leading institutions across West Bengal. The event was graced by several eminent dignitaries from the education and institutional leadership ecosystem, including Sardar Taranjit Singh, President, APAI, Managing Director JIS Group; Mr. P. Palanivel, Secretary General, EPSI; Dr. H. Chaturvedi, Patron, EPSI; Dr. Pushpati Nath Razdan, Principal Advisor, Quality Assurance & Excellence Cell, Gokula Education Foundation (GEF); Prof. C. R. Muthukrishna, Former Dean of Academic Courses and Director-in-Charge, IIT Madras; Mr. Naveen Goyal, Founder & CEO, Meritto; Dr. Y. M. Jayaraj, Pro Chancellor, BLDE; Mr. Ashish Maheshwari, Director – Education, KPMG; Mr. Narayanan Ramaswamy, Partner & National Leader, Education and Skill Development, KPMG India; and Dr. Neeraj Saxena, Pro Chancellor, JIS University. The programme served as a focused platform for strengthening institutional capabilities in quality assurance, accreditation processes, and national ranking frameworks.

The programme witnessed active participation from academic leaders, faculty members, administrators, and IQAC teams from leading institutions across West Bengal. The FDP covered critical areas such as understanding NBA and NIRF frameworks, implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), NIRF parameters and ranking strategies, and ensuring data accuracy, transparency, and integrity in institutional submissions. Experts also guided participants on developing strategic roadmaps for improving accreditation outcomes and institutional performance.
A dedicated session on Data Privacy, Governance & Compliance in Higher Education addressed key aspects of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, highlighting institutional responsibilities, data security practices, and risk management approaches in the evolving regulatory landscape.

The programme significantly contributed to enhancing awareness and operational effectiveness of Internal Quality Assurance Cells (IQACs), while enabling institutions to align more closely with national benchmarks of quality and excellence. It also facilitated meaningful knowledge exchange and collaboration among participating institutions.

Speaking on occasion, Sardar Taranjit Singh, President, APAI, Managing Director JIS Group, said, “This FDP reflects our continued commitment to strengthening institutional quality frameworks in India. The enthusiastic participation and engagement reaffirm the need for such focused initiatives that empower institutions to meet evolving accreditation standards, embrace data governance, and enhance their national and global standing.”
