Industry Body Seeks High-Level Probe Into Actor Sanchita Ugale’s Death

The death of television actor Sanchita Ugale has sparked calls for a thorough and impartial investigation, with the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) urging Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to order a high-level inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, AICWA expressed concern over the actor’s untimely demise and appealed for a comprehensive probe to ensure that every aspect of the case is examined. The association emphasised the importance of maintaining transparency during the investigation and called on authorities to establish the facts before drawing conclusions.

Sanchita Ugale, 22, was found dead at her residence in Nalasopara East on June 14. Known for her appearances in popular television productions, including Kumkum Bhagya, the young actor had been steadily building her career in the entertainment industry. News of her death has sent shockwaves through the television fraternity, prompting an outpouring of grief from colleagues, fans and industry members.

Police have initiated an investigation following a complaint lodged by the actor’s family. Officials are currently examining the circumstances leading up to the incident, although no definitive conclusions have been made public. AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta stated that the family deserves clarity and justice, stressing that a fair investigation is essential to address concerns raised by the industry and the public.
