Intelligence Organizations Investigating Amritpal Singh’s ISI Links
Leading intelligence sources have said that agencies are looking into Amritpal Singh, a hardline Sikh politician who has modeled himself after Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, a key player in the Khalistan movement, for any potential ISI ties.
After a ten-year absence, Amritpal has returned to Punjab and has taken the helm of Waris Punjab De, a pressure group established by the late activist and actor Deep Sidhu.
Amritpal Singh was not chosen for the role, according to Sidhu’s family.
According to the reports, Amritpal is touring Punjabi villages while promoting freedom, Sikhi, and opposition to the ruling class.
The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan, according to the agencies, believes he has assumed this position as part of a long-term plan to destabilize Punjab once more.
According to accounts, his dastarbandi (turban-tying ritual) also took place while chanting Khalistan Zindabad.
Amritpal traveled to Georgia before arriving in India from Dubai, according to top intelligence authorities.
The Punjabi government was recently requested by the union home ministry to keep an eye on its actions.
Intelligence authorities are extremely concerned about Amritpal’s frequent trips to Rode, the hometown of murdered militant commander Bhindranwale, and his speeches on freedom and Khalistan.
According to sources, Amritpal Singh is assuming the duties of both a political and a religious leader as the ISI attempts to fill the leadership gap in the Sikh community.
