Laser, Light & Sound Show Inaugurated at Smritika War Memorial, Lucknow

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath jointly inaugurated a state-of-the-art Laser, Light & Sound Show at Smritika War Memorial on April 11, 2026.
The 30-minute Hindi multimedia show showcases the Indian Army’s history, key battles, and contributions to nation-building using advanced projection, sound, and lighting technology. It highlights major conflicts including 1947–48, 1962, 1965, and 1971 wars, along with operations like Meghdoot and Vijay, and honours Param Vir Chakra awardees from the Awadh region.
The presentation also emphasizes military modernization, indigenous defence advancements, and Uttar Pradesh’s growing role in defence manufacturing through its defence corridor. The show will be held daily in the evening and will soon be open to the public.
As part of the initiative, the memorial is being upgraded with modern projectors, murals of military equipment, war trophies, and a newly built amphitheatre. Developed by Central Command in collaboration with the state government, the memorial continues to serve as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and national pride.
