Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ Trailer Unveils a Riveting Portrayal of Indira Gandhi and a Dark Chapter in Indian History

The much-anticipated trailer for “Emergency,” a period political drama directed by and starring Kangana Ranaut, has been officially released. Kangana, a four-time National Award-winning actress, not only takes on the role of the late former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi but also serves as the film’s producer. The trailer launch event saw the presence of Kangana alongside key cast members including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, and Shreyas Talpade.
“Emergency” delves into one of the most turbulent periods in Indian history: the Emergency of the 1970s. The film presents a powerful portrayal of this era, focusing on the intense political and emotional challenges faced by Indira Gandhi. Through its gripping trailer, audiences get a glimpse into the nationwide curfews, suppression of press freedom, and the closure of offices that characterized this dark chapter.
During the trailer launch, Kangana Ranaut shared her reflections on the film and the journey it took to bring it to the screen.
