Kerala police arrest two Bangladeshi women for staying illegally after busting a sex ring.

Police announced on Thursday that they had detained two Bangladeshi ladies from Karyavattom who were in the country illegally.  According to authorities, the apprehended women were allegedly residing with a group that was thought to be active in local prostitution. 

On Wednesday night, Kazhakoottam police stormed a leased home in Karyavattom after receiving a tip from the Kerala Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).According to police, the two ladies were allegedly employed by a prostitution ring and had been in Thiruvananthapuram for a month.

During the raid, six additional people were arrested in addition to the two Bangladeshi women. The trio had rented the residence earlier this month after pretending to be doctors, according to authorities. According to police, two distinct cases have been filed: one for the two Bangladeshi women’s illegal stay and another related to prostitution.

Two more Bangladeshi women were detained by police from a Thiruvananthapuram spa. According to officials, police have stepped up their crackdown on Bangladeshi nationals who are reportedly using fake identity cards and passports to remain in the state unlawfully.
