Massive Fire Destroys Seven Shops in Jhargram, Traders Suffer Heavy Losses

Jhargram : A devastating fire broke out late last night in the Local area of Ward No. 9 in Jhargram town, reducing seven shops to ashes and causing massive destruction. The fire spread rapidly from one shop to another within minutes, creating panic and chaos among residents.According to local witnesses, thick smoke and flames were first noticed late at night, alarming the neighborhood. Residents initially attempted to control the blaze themselves and promptly alerted the fire brigade. However, despite their efforts, the flames quickly engulfed multiple shops before the fire services arrived and managed to bring the situation under control.The affected shopkeepers are believed to have suffered losses worth several lakhs of rupees. Many families dependent on these shops for their livelihood now face severe financial difficulties due to the disaster.After being informed about the incident, Jhargram MLA Laxmikant Sau rushed to the scene to meet with the affected shop owners and assess the damage. He described the incident as extremely unfortunate and painful. He also assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the exact cause of the fire, whether it was due to a short circuit or another reason. He also appealed to residents not to politicize the tragedy.Local residents have urged the administration to provide immediate compensation, rehabilitation support, and financial aid to help the affected families recover from the crisis.
