Meta Enhances Facebook Dating with AI-Powered Assistant and ‘Meet Cute’ Feature

Meta has introduced two AI-driven features to Facebook Dating—an AI-powered Dating Assistant and a weekly surprise match feature called ‘Meet Cute’—aimed at reducing swipe fatigue and offering a more personalized matchmaking experience.
The Dating Assistant, accessible via the Matches tab, functions as an in-app chatbot that assists users in finding matches based on specific preferences. Users can input prompts like “Find me a Brooklyn girl in tech,” allowing the assistant to look beyond standard filters and suggest profiles that align with these criteria. Additionally, the assistant offers tips to enhance dating profiles and suggests first date ideas.
The ‘Meet Cute’ feature automatically pairs users with a surprise match each week, based on a personalized matching algorithm. This feature is designed for users seeking a break from the repetitive swiping process. Users can choose to engage in conversation with their match or opt to unmatch if they’re not interested. The feature is flexible, allowing users to opt out at any time.
These features are currently being rolled out gradually in the United States and Canada, with plans for expansion to other regions in the future. However, Facebook Dating remains unavailable in India.
Meta’s integration of AI into Facebook Dating reflects a broader trend of leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance user experiences and streamline processes across various platforms.
