Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has found himself at the centre of controversy after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against him following his reported exit from the upcoming film Don 3. The development has triggered widespread discussion within the film industry and among fans, many of whom have come out in support of the actor.
The dispute reportedly began after producers associated with the film accused Ranveer Singh of withdrawing from the project shortly before production was scheduled to begin. According to reports, the filmmakers claimed that the actor’s decision caused financial losses and disrupted shooting plans for the highly anticipated movie. A complaint was later submitted to FWICE, prompting the organisation to intervene in the matter.
FWICE officials stated that repeated notices were sent to the actor requesting him to appear before the federation and explain his position. However, the body claimed that no response was received from the actor or his representatives. As a result, FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive, advising its affiliated members and workers against collaborating with him on future projects until the dispute is resolved.
While the directive is not considered a legal ban, it has generated strong reactions across social media platforms. Supporters of Ranveer Singh accused sections of the industry of unfairly targeting the actor and questioned the severity of the action taken against him. Several fans described the controversy as unnecessary and politically motivated.
In response to the growing debate, Ranveer Singh’s team released a statement saying the actor continues to respect the film industry and prefers to deal with professional disagreements privately. The statement also noted that he would not engage publicly in speculation surrounding the matter.
