Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth Reviews Eastern Command’s Operational Preparedness, Emphasises ‘VIJAY’ Vision

New Delhi/Bengdubi | July 15, 2026: Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth reviewed the operational preparedness of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command during his two-day visit to the Trishakti Corps at Bengdubi Military Station and the Spear Corps on July 14–15, 2026.
The visit focused on assessing the Army’s readiness to address evolving security challenges in the strategically significant eastern and northeastern regions of the country. Senior commanders briefed the Army Chief on the current security environment, operational deployments, surveillance capabilities, logistics management, force modernisation initiatives, and the integration of advanced technologies into military operations.
Comprehensive Operational Review
During the review, General Seth was apprised of key operational aspects, including:
- Operational deployments along the Eastern Command.
- Surveillance and intelligence capabilities.
- Emerging regional security dynamics.
- Logistics and sustainment of troops.
- Adoption of advanced technologies and modern warfare systems.
- Force modernisation initiatives.
- Coordination with other security agencies and stakeholders.
The Army Chief also reviewed community outreach and civic action programmes undertaken by the Army to promote peace, development, and stronger civil-military relations across the Northeast.

Addressing senior commanders and troops, General Seth reiterated his strategic “VIJAY” vision for transforming the Indian Army into a future-ready force aligned with the national objective of Viksit Bharat Vision 2047.
The VIJAY framework stands for:

- A – Atmanirbharta (Self-Reliance)
- Y – Yodha First
He emphasised that these guiding principles will strengthen operational effectiveness, encourage technological innovation, promote integrated operations among the armed forces, advance indigenous defence capabilities, and prioritise the welfare and readiness of soldiers.

General Seth praised officers and soldiers serving in the Eastern theatre for their professionalism, discipline, and unwavering commitment while operating under challenging terrain and demanding operational conditions. He lauded their high morale and dedication in safeguarding the nation’s borders and maintaining peace and stability in the region.
