The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has approved a special arrangement for teenage cricket sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ahead of India’s upcoming T20I tours of Ireland and England. In a move aimed at easing the transition into international cricket, the board will cover all travel and accommodation expenses for the youngster’s parents during the overseas assignment.

The decision reflects the BCCI’s commitment to supporting one of the country’s brightest emerging talents as he prepares for life on the international stage. At just 15 years old, Sooryavanshi is set to embark on his first senior tour, making him one of the youngest players ever selected for the Indian national team.

The Bihar-born batter earned widespread acclaim following a stunning IPL 2026 campaign with Rajasthan Royals. His aggressive stroke play and consistency saw him finish as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, while also earning accolades such as Most Valuable Player and Best Emerging Player of the season.

BCCI officials believe the presence of his family will help the teenager adjust to the pressures of international cricket and long overseas tours. The board views parental support as an important factor in ensuring the youngster remains comfortable and focused during a crucial phase of his development.

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar praised Sooryavanshi’s performances, stating that the teenager’s achievements made him an automatic choice for the national side. He highlighted the batter’s maturity, confidence and ability to perform under pressure despite his young age.
