Body Donation Camp Was Organised at Rabindra Sansthan In Kharagpur On May Day

Kharagpur West Minapore : The Rabindra Sansthan in Kharagpur witnessed a historic moment as it organised a remarkably successful post-mortem body donation camp, setting a new benchmark for West Bengal.
The camp achieved an unprecedented milestone with 28 body donation pledge forms being handed over to the Department of Anatomy at Midnapore Medical College—the highest number ever recorded in the state. The pledge forms were presented by SRSRC/KGP Convener Sukanta Malik to dedicated volunteers of the Pashchim Banga Gyan Moncho.

The camp was inaugurated with a welcome address by Camp Convener Ushinor Chakraborty. The session was presided over by K.N. Mallick, ensuring the event proceeded with dignity and purpose.
Representing the Gyan Moncho, Prabhas Ranjan Bhattacharya and Gopal Hari Basu delivered insightful speeches, highlighting the profound importance and noble significance of body donation in medical education and research.

Arnab Jyoti Sarkar and Sukanta Malik also addressed the gathering, emphasising the humanitarian aspect of this selfless act.
The emotionally moving ceremony concluded with all donors being felicitated with floral garlands as a token of gratitude and respect for their noble contribution to medical science.
Organisers have announced that this camp will be held regularly every year on May Day, reinforcing the commitment to promoting body donation awareness in the region.
This achievement reflects the growing awareness among citizens about contributing to medical education even after their lifetime, and sets a shining example for similar initiatives across the state.
