Early on Sunday morning, unidentified gunmen opened fire outside the Gurugram home of Bigg Boss winner and controversial YouTuber Elvish Yadav. Three bike-borne guys fired almost two dozen shots at Yadav’s house in Sector 57 between 5:30 and 6 a.m. today, according to police, and then fled the scene.

The house’s first and ground floors were hit by the gunfire.

At the time, Yadav, who resides on the second and third levels, was not home. There were no reported injuries, however his caretaker and a few family members were inside when the attack happened.

“Three masked miscreants opened fire outside the residence of YouTuber and Big Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav in Gurugram’s Sector 57. The incident took place at around 5.30 am. More than a dozen rounds were fired. Elvish Yadav was not at his residence at the time of the firing,” Sandeep Kumar, PRO Gurugram Police said.

Police officials raced to the scene, gathered forensic evidence, and started looking through local CCTV footage. Officials stated that legal action is being taken and that after the family files a formal complaint, additional investigation will take place. Yadav’s father claims that before the incident, he had not received any threats. At the moment, the YouTuber is not in Haryana.

“We were sleeping when the attackers came on a motorcycle and started firing. There were three masked men. One was sitting on the bike, while the other two stepped down and opened fire at the house. They fired around 25 to 30 rounds and fled the scene. Elvish did not receive any threats before the incident. He is currently out of the city for his work,” the YouTuber’s father said.

Before taking home the 2023 Bigg Boss OTT 2 title, 27-year-old Elvish Yadav gained notoriety as a YouTuber. In addition to having a sizable internet fan base, he has made appearances in movies and music videos.

But controversies are nothing new to Elvish Yadav. In a case concerning the suspected usage of snake venom at rave events, Noida Police arrested him last year. Yadav allegedly made the arrangements for the supply of cobra venom as a recreational drug, according to the police. Although he was eventually released on bail, he is still being charged in this case.
