India A booked their place in the final of the Sri Lanka A Team Tri-Series with a commanding 101-run victory over Afghanistan A in Dambulla, delivering a clinical performance with both bat and ball.
After being asked to bat first, India A posted a competitive total of 319 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs. The innings was built on a series of valuable contributions from the middle order, with Priyansh Arya, Tilak Varma and Kumar Kushagra all registering half-centuries. Their composed knocks ensured India maintained momentum throughout the innings despite losing wickets at regular intervals.
Young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also provided a brisk start, helping India establish a solid platform. The batting unit displayed depth and resilience, allowing the side to cross the 300-run mark and set Afghanistan A a challenging target.
In reply, Afghanistan A began their chase with positive intent and looked capable of mounting a challenge during the early stages. However, the Indian bowlers gradually tightened their grip on the contest, striking at crucial moments to halt the opposition’s progress.
