News Mania Desk/ Piyal Chatterjee/25th May 2026

A deadly suicide bombing near a railway track in Pakistan’s Balochistan province killed several people and injured many others, raising fresh concerns over security in the restive southwestern region. The explosion occurred near a passenger train travelling through the area, causing panic among passengers and local residents.

According to officials, the blast took place close to a railway station when the train was passing through the track. The force of the explosion damaged multiple train coaches and disrupted railway services in the area. Rescue teams, police personnel, and emergency workers rushed to the site soon after the incident to assist victims and transport the injured to nearby hospitals.

Authorities said preliminary investigations indicated that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber who detonated explosives near the railway line. Security agencies immediately cordoned off the area and launched a large-scale search operation to gather evidence and identify individuals linked to the attack.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the bombing and expressed grief over the loss of lives. Government officials described the incident as an act of terrorism aimed at destabilising the region and assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible. Security agencies have been directed to intensify operations against militant groups active in the province.

Balochistan has witnessed repeated attacks over the years by separatist and extremist organisations targeting security forces, transportation networks, and infrastructure projects. Railway tracks and passenger trains have often been vulnerable to such attacks because of the region’s ongoing insurgency and security challenges.

Following the incident, railway services in the affected region were temporarily suspended, while additional security personnel were deployed around transport routes and public facilities to prevent further attacks. Officials said investigations into the bombing are ongoing and further details are expected after forensic examinations and intelligence assessments are completed.
