R. B. Choudary Killed in Rajasthan Road Accident, Film Industry Mourns Loss

Veteran film producer R. B. Choudary died in a tragic road accident in Rajasthan on May 5, 2026, leaving the South Indian film industry in shock. The 76-year-old was widely known for his work across Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema and for establishing the production banner Super Good Films.

According to reports, the accident occurred near Beawar while Choudary was returning from a family function. He was travelling in a car with his son-in-law and driver when the incident took place on a national highway. Preliminary findings suggest that the driver attempted to avoid a herd of cattle that suddenly came onto the road, leading to a loss of control. The vehicle subsequently crashed into a roadside barrier, causing severe damage.

Choudary sustained critical injuries and was declared dead at the scene. His son-in-law and driver were seriously injured and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Local police officials reached the site soon after the crash and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The news of his sudden demise triggered an outpouring of condolences from across the film fraternity. Prominent personalities remembered him as a key figure who contributed significantly to the growth of South Indian cinema and supported emerging talent.

Choudary is survived by his family, including his sons, who are also associated with the film industry. His body is expected to be taken to Chennai for final rites. His death marks the end of a long and influential career, leaving behind a lasting legacy in Indian cinema.
